5 selectable drive modes

The Ford Escape comes with five selectable drive modes to suit varying conditions – normal, eco, sport, slippery deep snow/sand and trail. Plus, it’s available in both FWD and AWD drive train options.
FWD or AWD?

The FWD (Front Wheel Drive) system sends power and weight directly to the front wheels, helping to retain traction on slippery roads. The AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system intelligently determines how much grip, balance and responsiveness is needed to suit varying conditions and terrain.
Towing capacity

A small SUV that’s big in utility. Extra power and ability there for when you need it, whether you’re moving houses or travelling with a boat. The Escape 2.0L Petrol AWD can tow up to 1800kg².
ST-line extras

The optional ST-Line Pack comes with Hands-Free Power Tailgate with Smart Keyless Entry, Front Heated Seats, LED Glare Free Headlamps and Heads Up Display, for your convenience.

What is a PHEV?

The new Escape Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) available from 2022 uses two sources of power to get you where you need to go, efficiently. The Escape PHEV can travel up to 56km on battery power alone². For longer journeys, power split technology recharges the hybrid battery as you drive.

Sporty, efficient and oh-so effortless, the Escape ST-Line Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is Ford’s first plug-in hybrid SUV. Going electric has never been this easy.

What is a PHEV?

PHEV stands for a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Using two different sources of power- petrol or diesel, and an electric motor which uses stored energy from a battery.
Electric your way

On long journeys the technology seamlessly switches from electricity to petrol when the battery runs low, so you’ll never miss a beat.

Charge on the go

When you’re driving, a combination of regenerative braking and power drawn from the engine helps replenish the battery. And if you need to recharge on-the-go, you can easily use an ever-growing network of public charging stations too.
Monitor your battery (FordPass)

FordPass¹ allows you to view the Escape’s charge and fuel levels in the app and calculate how many kms you can travel at that level. FordPass can send notifications when the charge level of your battery and fuel level are running low.

AEB with Pedestrian Detection

Every Escape model features Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian and Cyclist detection^1. Always scanning ahead, AEB alerts you of potential collisions and applies the brakes if an unexpected danger appears in front of the car.
Emergency Assistance

SYNC® ³ is there for you when you need it most. If you’re in an accident that activates the airbags or shuts the fuel pump off, Emergency Assistance2 uses your paired smartphone to dial emergency services and provide them with your GPS location.
180^o split view camera

The rear view camera with 180-degree split view activates automatically once switched into reverse. Acting like an extra pair of eyes, the camera can reveal objects you might have missed and help you navigate tight parking spaces.
Traffic Sign Recognition¹

The Escape’s front sensors scan the road ahead for traffic signs and display the current speed limit on the digital instrument cluster, helping you to avoid a hefty speeding fine
